422 Project Update

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that construction activities will continue next week on U.S. 422, Porter Road, and Sanatoga Road under an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 1.7 miles of the expressway and replace two bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

�� Monday, February 19, through Thursday, February 22, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard for clearing, grubbing and drainage installation.

�� Monday, February 19, through Thursday, February 22, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Evergreen Road for clearing, grubbing and drainage installation.

�� Monday, February 19, through Thursday, February 22, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, an intermittent single lane flagging pattern will be in place on Porter Road between High Street and Sanatoga Station Road for clearing and grubbing.

�� Monday, March 4, through Monday, April 15, a 24/7 closure will be in place on Sanatoga Road between Linfield Road and East High Street for water and sewer relocation. Motorists will be directed to use Linfield Road, Evergreen Road and High Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
