JP Mascaro & Sons collects trash & recyclables for Lower Pottsgrove Township residents on public streets Monday mornings starting at 6:00AM.
Trash & Recyclables Collection
To ensure that you are not missed, place items at the curb the night before. Items may not be placed at the curb before 4 PM the night before and must be removed no later than 10AM the day following collection. Each household is limited to four 25-to-50-gallon waste containers/bags weighing no more than 50 pounds per container each week. Containers may be plastic or metal trash cans or plastic trash bags. If your trash/recycling was missed or any other communication regarding the trash/recycling services, please reach out to us directly via Trash Communication Form or call the Township Building at 610-323-0436.

Recycling Requirements
Single Stream Recycling Requirements
Lower Pottsgrove Township now participates in Single-Stream recycling collection. Single stream allows residents to place all recyclables in one container. There is no need to separate. Single-Stream recycling will be collected by a compaction truck, only recyclables will be collected by this vehicle. All food containers should be rinsed prior to placing in receptacle.

Yard Waste
Yard waste is collected 6 times a year as reflected on the township trash & recycling calendar. All yard waste must be in separate trash cans or biodegradable paper bags or tied in bundles no more than 4 inches in diameter and placed on the curb. Bags are available for purchase at local retailers such as Home Depot, Costco, Lowes or Walmart. There is no limit to the number of bags or cans that will be collected. Grass clippings and tree limbs will not be collected, these items are to be composted or taken to a composting facility.
Should residents need a disposal site for their yard waste on an off month, two local drop offs have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection:

Private Waste Haulers
Properties meeting one or more of the following criteria must contract with their own waste hauler:
- Commercial or institutional properties
- Mobile home park or community
- No direct frontage on a public street
- Planned residential development with a community association or management agency.
