Roadway Reconstruction Continues Next Week on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that various construction activities will continue next week on U.S. 422 and Porter Road under an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 1.7 miles of the expressway and replace two bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, February 26, through Thursday, February 29, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road and Armand Hammer Boulevard for clearing, grubbing and drainage installation.

• Monday, February 26, through Thursday, February 29, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Evergreen Road for clearing, grubbing and drainage installation.

• Monday, February 26, through Thursday, February 29, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, an intermittent single-lane flagging pattern will be in place on Porter Road between High Street and Sanatoga Station Road for clearing and grubbing.

Drivers are reminded that Sanatoga Road between Linfield Road and East High Street will be closed and detoured 24/7 beginning Monday, March 4, through Friday, April 15, for water and sewer relocation. Motorists will be directed to use Linfield Road, Evergreen Road and High Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
