Municipal Waste Services In Lower Pottsgrove
JP Mascaro collects trash, recyclables, and leaf waste for Lower Pottsgrove Township residents on public streets. Collection for trash and recyclables is every Monday beginning at 6 a.m. To ensure that you are not missed, placed items at the curb the night before. Items may not be placed at the curb before 4 p.m. the night before and must be removed no later than 10 a.m. the day following collection. Each household is limited to FOUR (4) 25 to 50 gallon waste containers/bags weighing no more than 50 pounds per container each week. Containers may be plastic or metal trash cans OR plastic trash bags. Commercial toters are not an approved waste container under the Lower Pottsgrove Township trash removal contract and these containers will NOT be collected.
Holiday Schedules
If Monday is a celebrated holiday, collection will be on Tuesday. This applies only to the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Christmas Day.
Items that are Not Collected
Grass Clippings: DEP Composting Website Yard Waste (branches, hedge trimmings, garden debris) DEP Composting Website Home Construction or Demolition Debris - contact JP Mascaro or another waste hauler For paint cans*, aerosol paint cans, stain containers, or hazardous household chemicals - please see Household Hazardous Waste *Latex paint cans will be collected with regular trash. They must be emptied, dried out and NO LID.
Leaf Collection
As of January 1, 2007, Lower Pottsgrove Township will provide monthly leaf waste collection. Leaves must be bagged in Township-provided compostable kraft paper bags. The bags are available for purchase at the Township office, Sanatoga Thriftway, and Redners Supermarket.  Please do not put other yard waste in these bags. Leaf Collection is the first Monday of every month. If Monday is a holiday, then leaf collection is the following day. Leaves must be bagged in official Lower Pottsgrove Township compostable kraft paper bags which are available at the Township building, Sanatoga Thriftway and Redner's Market. Leaves in plastic bags or bags are not "Lower Pottsgrove Township" bags will not be collected.
