Lower Pottsgrove Township
Municipal Waste Service Termination Notice

November 17, 2006

Dear Resident/Owner,

Beginning January 1, 2007 , Lower Pottsgrove Township will cease to provide municipal waste hauling services to residents who live on properties that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • No direct frontage to a public street
  • Planned residential development with a community association or management agency
  • Mobile home park or community
  • Commercial or institutional properties

According to our records, your property meets one or more of the above criteria and will be dropped from the Township’s municipal waste collection program.  Concerns over public health, safety, and welfare on streets that the Township does not control have led the Township to revise its ordinances to include the above criteria for exclusion from municipal waste collection services.  For further information on the amended Solid Waste and Recycling ordinances, please contact the Township or view the ordinances on our website, www.lowerpottsgrove.org.

As a result of terminating municipal waste collection services from these areas of the Township, residents must hire their own hauler to collect solid waste, recyclables, and leaf waste as per Township ordinances by January 1, 2007 .  For your convenience, a list of trash haulers who operate in the area is provided with this letter.

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation as we strive to maintain a high quality of life in Lower Pottsgrove Township .

Sincerely,

Bruce Foltz, Chairman
Board of Commissioners
